2024 3D Points Champion Announced
We have an announcement to make. After reviewing all the 3D member shoot score cards this year, we have determined who the overall 2024 points winner is. Drum roll............Elijah Rouse from Winter Park is our winner!! He had a combined score of 756, that is an average of 189 per round. He attended all 4 shoots we had this year (June, July, August 1, and August 2). Our October shoot was canceled this year, and we apologize for that. Please give him congrats if you see him in town. He will be receiving a custom belt buckle in the mail soon.
Thanks again to everyone who joined our shoots each month this year. In 2025 we are planning again shoots in June, July, August and October. See you all in the spring.
CPW SHOOTING RANGE SMALL GRANT - AWARDED TO GCAA...AGAIN!!
GCAA applied for this new type of grant in 2023 and we were successful in receiving the CPW Shooting Range Development Grant! This money is being used to purchase 7 new Rinehart full size targets, 5 new Rinehart inserts, 12 bow rack for sight in range, and 6 new bag targets with stands. New this year we will be matching a portion of the grant funds with with in-kind labor. If anyone would like to help with setup please send us an email to grandcountyarchery@gmail.com. The remaining targets will be placed in Spring 2025.

IBO vs ASA vs UNIVERSAL TARGET SCORING

NEW BOW RACKS
Building and Installing bow racks or hooks at each 3D target station.
TARGET BACKSTOPS
We are installing new hay backstops behind every target in 2024.
DESIGNATED SHOOTING LOCATIONS
Continuing in 2024, we will place shooting location markers at every target. This will standardize all our shoots and make it more clear where to shoot from.
PICNIC TABLE
Accepting donations of benches and or picnic tables for our sight in range.
NEW 3D TARGETS + INSERTS
We are purchasing 7 new Rinehart 3D animal targets and 5 new Rinehart IBO inserts in 2024.
NEW BROADHEAD PIT
Our older damaged 3-D targets are going to be set up in the parking lot as a broadhead pit. This will be the only place on the GCAA range to practice with broadheads. Please DO NOT shoot the bag targets with broad heads.
